You can take diverse paths to earn revenue online in an honest and legit way. These paths may include drop-shipping, direct sales, affiliate marketing, among others. There is nothing better for us, when starting a business online, than to know it’s honest and it’s legit. That through all our effort, we’ll be helping others and also we’ll be building a business. But, I’d like to pause here… On the very first paragraph of this post, I want to emphasize a point: If you’re going to be upright in your business, it won’t be an overnight journey to success.

Let’s reason together. If somebody comes up to you right now and offers you overnight riches, would you accept the deal? Won’t your alarms start to ring and your inner voice begin to say “Hold on, there seem to be something strange here”. In the world online, as it has happened for so many years offline, the only way to build a sustainable business is working hard!

What is affiliate marketing about?

Among the different paths you can take, affiliate marketing is one of the most convenient. What is affiliate marketing about? We’ll enter into details shortly but for now we can state that it’s the business of helping others. It’s fulfilling. And you can literally pick anything to be your business because whatever you choose, there will always be people online searching for help in that which you choose.

But a few years ago I had no idea about affiliate marketing. I’d like to share with you my journey from the very moment I decided to start searching opportunities to make a living online. If you’re going through this stage, you’ll find my story useful.

My story finding affiliate marketing

I’m just a normal person that heard you could build a business online. I had no idea were to start. I just googled and started reading.

You’ve probably seen some trying to promote a way to earn money online flashing suitcases full of cash, limos and an extravagant life. There is nothing farther away from real life that that. They are just trying to sell you a dream.

Here I’ll share my humble story. I won’t be inflating the results and I won’t minimize the effort.

It has been a great pleasure for me recalling these events. I hope you enjoy reading this journey as much as I have putting it together.

But finding this training platform is by no means the end of the story. In fact, it’s just the beginning. Here is where all the struggles to set up a recurrent income online really begun, LOL.

I must admit, when I found this platform, I was excited. This was a completely new thing for me. I was overwhelmed. I tried to learn as much as I could and went through the training paying attention to the videos and carefully reading everything inside the program.

I didn’t know how to code (nor do I now) and I never imagined I could launch a website and help people with their purchasing decisions.

Now, being perfectly honest, that excitement only lasted around three months. Don’t get me wrong. I’m still excited even up to this very day. I still think how cool is to manage sites and work from anywhere in the world. But that initial, overwhelming excitement certainly goes away once you realize this takes work to make it work!

Please stay tuned and continue reading about the challenges that began to arise. As I stated at the opening of this post, I’ll in no way diminish the struggles.

I like your comic strip type post. I like that it got the points of affiliate marketing in a different way.

I’m an affiliate marketer already. And I know this is a pretty novel idea. I hadn’t seen it before. People who aren’t into reading paragraph after paragraph can pay better attention, and hopefully learn more with this type of post.

I’m interested in the results. I want to see how many conversions you get. Best of luck to you! Rhonda.

    Henry · April 25, 2019 at 7:34 PM

Hi Rhonda! Thank you for your words. I appreciate your experience as an affiliate marketer and I hope this type of post helps people get information quicker and at the same time make them enjoy the experience.

If you have any suggestions or feedback, I’d be more that happy to hear them. Thanks for stopping by! It means a lot to me.

Nuttanee · April 25, 2019 at 12:06 AM

I love how you put your story in comic strips. It is so much fun to read. I thought at first it was the ads and found out later that it is your story, lol, love it!

I will be sure to visit your website in a week for chapter 2. The beginning of your story is a little bit different from mine but we do share the same action and result. I also wanted to make an honest money online, did the research and found out about affiliate marketing. Can’t wait for chapter 2 ☺

    Henry · April 25, 2019 at 6:57 PM

Hi Nuttanee! I’m excited reading your comment and I appreciate this occasion to connect with you. We have both gone this path and we know affiliate marketing works. But we also know the trials affiliate marketers must go through before seeing their business flourish.

At the end of the day we can look back and be grateful! I hope this series also brings back good memories from those initial days! See you for episode 2! 🙂

Shannon · April 25, 2019 at 12:13 AM

Thank you for this unique article. It was an interesting choice to use comics to get your information across. It’s brilliant and I love it! I’m definitely interested in learning more about Wealthy Affiliate. The training offered is exactly what I need to get my business the boost it needs. Thanks again!

    Henry · April 25, 2019 at 6:37 PM

Hi Shannon! Thank you! I encourage you to take a look at the training inside Wealthy Affiliate. I hope to see you inside the platform and you’ll surely thank me again once you start to reap the profits of affiliate marketing.

Jayden · April 25, 2019 at 12:14 AM

Wow, what a unique way to deliver content! It is so much easier to understand the concept through comics. I spent less than half the time I usually spend reading a regular article (and I comprehended twice as much).

I could not agree more about being honest and making a living online. For me, affiliate marketing seems to be the only way to succeed here. Awesome job! I will be sure to come back for more articles from you.

    Henry · April 25, 2019 at 6:18 PM

Hi Jayden! I’m the one that must say “Wao, thank you!”

I didn’t know this comic could be so useful. It has been a pleasure for me to put it together. And it’s a real thrill to read comments like yours. I’d be eager to have you back soon!

Sam · April 25, 2019 at 12:24 AM

I have come across a couple of sites promoting affiliate marketing, and I decided to do my homework and research about it. This is a twist to all the posts I’ve read so far. It’s cool to read comics. And it has made researching fun. I see a lot of young adults coming over to your website.

If you don’t mind my question, how do you create these comics? What program do you use? It will be great to have your feedback.

I really enjoyed reading this! Keep it up!

    Henry · April 25, 2019 at 5:54 PM

Hi Sam! Thank you very much for your nice comment. I’m glad you enjoyed this comic. And I hope it helps you with your research.

To create comics I use a program called Pixton.

    Keep well!

Son · April 25, 2019 at 1:28 AM

I’m initiating this exploring journey. Affiliate marketing actually sounds like the ideal way for people to earn income online. It’s inexpensive to start and sounds pretty simple from your cartoon explanation. Also it’s a good opportunity to help people make informed decisions and promote the products you personally recommend. Thanks for the article.

    Henry · April 25, 2019 at 5:21 PM

Hi! You’re most welcome. And you have mentioned some very interesting points. Affiliate marketing indeed is inexpensive to get started. It can generate a constant stream of revenue and it’s fun when you’re working with something you love.

    Keep tuned. All the best!

Mark · April 25, 2019 at 8:04 PM

Yes, absolutely! Affiliate marketing is probably the best way to go, at least as far as I have seen.

You can try selling your own products, such as on eBay or Amazon, but you might find the competition is a little too heavy for the same types of items. Unless you have something really unique to sell that way, your profit margins will be thin and you’d be better off promoting someone else’s products and earning affiliate commissions. It’s not an overnight-success kind of thing, but you’ll get there if you keep after it. Thanks for sharing!

    Henry · April 25, 2019 at 10:26 PM

Hi Mark! Yes, selling our own products on eBay or Amazon is quite tough. I personally prefer affiliate marketing too. As you have stated, it takes time but it works.

Todd Matthews · April 25, 2019 at 8:10 PM

I have been an affiliate marketer for quite a while. And I have been attracted to your site because I find interesting this idea of create a comic strip in terms of discussing the subject of affiliate marketing. Usually, you get an article of endless text which upon researching what affiliate marketing is and how it works can grow monotonous. Your style mixes it up and gets rid of the telling, instead, creating a new flow as Henry discusses some key points. It will pique the interest of others who prefer less text and more imagery.

    Henry · April 25, 2019 at 9:54 PM

Hi Todd! Your words are valuable to me. And I hope they come to pass just as you have prognosticated. I’m all ears for suggestions and advice.

I also wish you all the best with your sites. Keep well!

Antonio · April 25, 2019 at 8:16 PM

That was an unique way of explaining what affiliate marketing is about. It’s fun to make a caricature of yourself.

The problem with any program is the initial fear that if you join you’ll be taken for a ride. But I’m eager to continue reading about your experience. You have almost persuaded me.

Grazie tanti!

    Henry · April 25, 2019 at 8:44 PM

    Ciao Antonio! Prego.

Thank you for your comment. And I can honestly relate to that initial fear. I have gone through it too. But you have a great advantage and it’s you can check out the platform completely free.

Keep toned for episode 2. Grazie mille!

Mattie K · April 25, 2019 at 8:38 PM

I love this article! It’s so unique and fun. The thought of affiliate marketing can be really intimidating and I love that you recommend a service that takes you by the hand and helps you get to your goals step by step.

I have started my trip into affiliate marketing. And I have been super overwhelmed with where to start. I know that to succeed one must work hard and be teachable. I’m excited because affiliate marketing is an amazing way to make a living.

    Henry · April 25, 2019 at 9:34 PM

Hi Mattie! Yes, affiliate marketing indeed is a great way to make a living. And it can be a bit overwhelming but if you have the correct guidelines, you’ll learn the ropes in no time.

    All the best!

Dave Sweney · April 26, 2019 at 9:04 AM

This way of delivering information about affiliate marketing is unique. I have not seen this before anywhere on the internet! The information is sound, and the comic book format and drawings used really got my attention.

Perhaps most importantly, the points you were emphasizing also came through well. Affiliate marketing is something that anyone can succeed at, providing they are willing to put in the effort to do it correctly. It is a strong point that the entry level is low for this type of business.

I will be looking forward to your next installment. I am quite sure this could be made into a movie at some point!

    Henry · April 26, 2019 at 11:49 AM

Hi Dave! Your words are very important for me. I greatly respect your work as an affiliate marketer. And I have learnt many things following your sites. So, to hear something has captured your attention makes me feel there could be a good idea here.

Thank you for stopping by my humble site and leaving this encouraging comment.

When I read about the movie think it made me laugh at first. But I then gave it a more serious thought and… Hahaha, just kidding! 🙂

Adyns68 · April 26, 2019 at 9:11 AM

The reading was fun!

I like this unique way of presenting a post. You made a very complex subject simple and fun. Now as you say affiliate marketing consist of me advertising a product and getting a commission after sale. But where do I find the product? I think I need to learn how to build a business on this subject.

I see you talked about Wealthy Affiliate. Is it an organisation where you go to get the affiliate product? Or a place to learn how to build such a business, because you said it was a step by step process.

Thanks for this presentation. I think I am gonna try affiliate marketing. Wish me luck!

    Henry · April 26, 2019 at 10:50 PM

Hi! Welcome to the affiliate marketing world. Thank you for your questions:

    1. To find affiliate marketing programs all you need to do is type in Google your niche + the term affiliate programs. For example, to find affiliate programs for my site I type: Learn Italian + affiliate programs.

    2. Wealthy Affiliate is a platform to learn the basics about affiliate marketing. The community there or their keyword tool could help you find affiliate programs. But they’d probably tell you what I have just mentioned in point 1. Wealthy Affiliate’s main focus is to teach you how to build a sustainable site, whatever niche you choose.

I encourage you to join Wealthy Affiliate. You’ll learn a lot in a short time.

John Mullen · April 26, 2019 at 9:15 AM

I’m an affiliate marketer already. And I trained through Wealthy Affiliate. I’m grateful I found their platform. Even though I know what affiliate marketing is, I still had to come here to take a look. And I must say the creation of the comic strip is awesome. Obviously I had to read the entire post just to see what happened next, the comic strip definitely made me want more. Next week I have to come back here for Episode 2, this is too good not to hear the rest of the story.

Thanks for the great article!

    Henry · April 26, 2019 at 11:03 PM

Hi John! I’m grateful I found them too. And thank you very much for your enthusiasm. It’s rewarding to read your comment. See you around next week. Keep well!

Sebastian · April 26, 2019 at 9:16 AM

I really enjoyed your comic strip presentation! It certainly grabbed my attention and hold it till the end. I think that this post was one of the most engaging posts I’ve ever seen. Can’t wait to see the next chapter! From my point of view, this comic puts storytelling to a new level!

    Henry · April 26, 2019 at 11:08 PM

Hi Sebastian! Thank you very much! I feel those claims are a bit too big for me, LOL, but I appreciate your comment very much! See you next week for next chapter.

shakil19 · April 26, 2019 at 9:26 AM

Hey Henry,

I like blogging and I have quite a following. If this article would have been written in the classical way a blog-post is written, it would be a good article. But adding comics makes it a blast! And what beats delivering useful information in an engaging way? I would promote this on Insta and Pinterest! I would go viral.

Count me in for next week. There might be something cooking here.

    Henry · April 26, 2019 at 11:19 PM

Hey, thanks! I didn’t expect this type of reaction regarding this comic. But I greatly appreciate your support. Thank you very much! See you next week.

Mehedi · April 26, 2019 at 10:32 AM

Hey Henry. What’s up?

Google sent me to your site and I started to look around. I read one of your other articles and then this cartoon caught my attention. Hey bro, this is cool! I like it! And it has also helped me with my search.

I wanted to start working from my laptop and I have read you recommend this certain platform to get started. Can one join for free and still build a site? And if so, can one earn money even with a free membership?

    Henry · April 26, 2019 at 11:31 PM

    Hey Mehedi!

Thanks for stopping by. And the answer is yes, you can join Wealthy Affiliate for free and they allow you to build not only one, but two sites.

And concerning earning money with your sites even as a free member, yes it’s possible. But take into consideration that it will take time. Give it a year before expecting income.

Karen · April 27, 2019 at 4:00 AM

Thanks for such a visual way of sharing the concept of affiliate marketing – it makes it super easy for anyone to understand what’s involved and how they might go about it. I definitely think that Wealthy Affiliate is worth checking out for any aspiring online marketer. How long have you been marketing now? Cheers, Karen

    Henry · April 29, 2019 at 2:46 AM

Hi Karen! It has almost been 4 years since I got started at affiliate marketing. Thank you very much for stopping by and for your comment.

Katy · April 27, 2019 at 4:01 AM

I think affiliate marketing can be a confusing topic at first, but once you can grasp it, there’s so much you can market. I have been learning a lot about it but there is still a long learning curve that I need to cover.

In this post you’ve made learning difficult topics enjoyable and fun.

    Henry · May 1, 2019 at 6:23 AM

Hi Katy! Thank you! Please don’t hesitate to ask any question related to affiliate marketing. I may not have all the answers but I know a bunch of people that could help us both. Keep well! All the best!

Divican · April 27, 2019 at 6:01 PM

Henry, this is great. You have said that you’ll weekly publish new comics. I have bookmarked your site to come in a week’s time. Your comic is informative but at the same time it’s fun. That’s a good combination. I wish more content online had this combination. Thank you very much! Keep up the good work.

    Henry · April 29, 2019 at 12:56 AM

Hey! Thank you for the encouragement. And thanks for your words concerning this comic. Please do come back next week!

RoDarrick · April 27, 2019 at 6:02 PM

I must come back to continue reading. This is like one in a million approach. You’ve made the process of learning the introductory part very simplified and fun. This is non arguably the best I have read concerning details on affiliate marketing.

Thanks for this post… I’m coming back for the next post.

    Henry · April 28, 2019 at 6:42 PM

Hi RoDarrick! Thank you! I’m glad to hear this approach has been helpful. I’d be glad to see you back for the next part. Keep well!

Alblue · April 27, 2019 at 6:03 PM

I have started to research about affiliate marketing. And I have learned from this post that we must inform our potential buyer genuinely. It seems a good way to make money. But there are still a lot of things I don’t understand very well. If I get started in affiliate marketing, how long would I have to wait to get my first sale?

    Henry · April 28, 2019 at 6:34 PM

Hi! Thank you for stopping by! Yes, you’re right. Informing well our potential customers is the best way we can serve them.

Regarding how long it takes, well, that’s kinda difficult to answer. It depends on the procedures you apply (where you get your training from), the amount of work you put into your business, the audience you choose, among many other elements. If you follow the training I have suggested, and work hard on your site, I’d say you could have your first sale a year later. Some have joined and in a few months start to get sales, but I won’t make false promises.

Sorry for not having a precise answer, but I think it would be irresponsible if I gave one. I hope this helps. Keep well. All the best!

Louise · April 27, 2019 at 6:07 PM

I appreciate your honesty. You have pointed out all the salient information that a person looking to start an online marketing business needs to know. You explain how an online business needs time and hard work. I think you have done a really good job. Thanks.

I look forward to the next installment.

    Henry · April 28, 2019 at 6:16 PM

Hi Louise! Thank you. I’m glad you found this useful. And I’d be happy to see you here for the next installment. Once again, thank you very much!

tman61 · April 27, 2019 at 6:09 PM

I have been reading a lot about affiliate marketing on other sites but I must say the way you explained everything in this comic style setting was really interesting. I now understand some of the basics better. You will do good in this field. I truly think that even young people who have no idea of what it takes to get started in affiliate marketing can get a lot out of this website.

    Henry · April 28, 2019 at 6:13 PM

Hey! Thank you! Thank you very much! Reading your comment I feel I have accomplished my goal. And I hope to continue helping others to understand affiliate marketing better.

Queen · April 27, 2019 at 6:28 PM

This is such a fabulous concept! Never seen any website use this kind of charts in affiliate marketing. Feels unique and great.

This will really keep people more engaged, and it does make knowing more about affiliate marketing simple and fun.

I am just getting started at affiliate marketing too. I am curious to know what the outcome of your journey was, especially when you had to stay a free member in this online community that you got started with. I believe your experience may be of use to me along the way.

Hope to drop in again.

Babsie Wagner · April 27, 2019 at 6:34 PM

Well, that was one of the most entertaining posts I’ve read in quite a while. Those cartoon drawings are awesome, who made them for you? Do you outsource? I know that’s off topic, lol, but they are so cool.

Anyway, I see at the end of this cartoon that you joined the Wealthy Affiliate program. I can tell you that I am a member, and I’m super excited about the training I’ve received, and how fast my business is growing. I had never done online marketing, but with Wealthy Affiliate I could follow the step by step so easily. It’s awesome.

Even though I already know about affiliate marketing, I’ll come back next week to continue reading! You have captured my attention.

    Henry · April 27, 2019 at 7:13 PM

Hi Babsie! Thank you very much for your words concerning this cartoon. I create it myself with Pixton.

I’m glad you could set up your online business and you’re doing well. Yes, I’m grateful I found their training.

I’d feel honored to have you here next week too. Thank you! Keep well! 🙂

Phil · May 1, 2019 at 11:41 AM

Hello Henry,

How did you do the comic strip? I have experience in affiliate marketing and I can say it’s rewarding. But even without experience, training or knowledge anybody can get started and in time will see results that never currently thought possible. Time, teach-ability, passion and taking action routinely will help anyone reach a full time income in a relatively short time frame.

I like the concept here at your site. Keep up the great work.

    Henry · May 1, 2019 at 3:13 PM

Hello Phil! Thank you! I used Pixton to do the comic strip.

You have summed it all up in a few words. I completely believe anybody can make it online with affiliate marketing. Thank you very much for your comment!

May I ask how long that took you? Seemed like that’d take a bit to put together.

    Henry · May 16, 2019 at 5:31 AM

Hi Henry,

Really cool post! Explaining affiliate marketing with the cartoon/comic is an ingenious idea. I do have some experience with affiliate marketing so I know what it is. However, for those that don’t, I think they could easily understand it after this! Love how you break it down in such a simple way. In my experience, affiliate marketing is an awesome opportunity to earn money online if you have some patience and don’t mind putting in the work. I’m going to share this with some friends that are looking to get into it. This would be a great place for them to start. Thanks again!

    Henry · May 23, 2019 at 8:30 PM

    Hey Dan!

Thank you very much for your kind words.

Concerning what it takes to succeed, you have said it beautifully and I would like to high your words: “We need patience and to put in the work.”

affiliate_ghost · May 22, 2019 at 9:35 AM

WOW!! This is such a fun take on affiliate marketing. You explained things in a way that anyone who hasn’t heard of the term before can understand.

I love your use of a comic strip. It was educative and engaging. And it certainly passed across your point. I enjoyed reading and I know you will get massive results from this. Thanks a lot, Henry. This is awesome!

    Henry · May 25, 2019 at 11:37 PM

Hey! I’m glad you found this post useful! I have always wanted to break down the topic to make it easy to understand for everybody. And I still have work to do in this direction. Thank you for your kind words!

Christina · May 22, 2019 at 9:35 AM

This was such a fun read, and it makes affiliate marketing really easy to understand. I actually lol’ed when the guy said “Haven’t you heard of the Cleveland Indians?” Good one!

I love the idea that affiliate marketing is selling, but not in an in-your-face kind of way. More in a “here’s some helpful content so you can choose for yourself” kind of way. It’s so much more relaxed than other selling styles.

I was part of an MLM recently, and that’s all about messaging people, trying to recruit, recruit, recruit. Where affiliate marketing is more attraction-based. You put the content out there and let people come to YOU. It’s much more chill and I love it!

I can’t wait to read part two of your story!

    Henry · May 27, 2019 at 8:31 PM

Hi Christina! Thank you very much for stopping by! I totally agree with you and you explained it better than I would ever had. I like that affiliate marketing is more relaxed! I hope to see you back soon! All the best! 🙂

MissusB · May 22, 2019 at 9:38 AM

Using comics as your platform to introduce Affiliate Marketing to everyone is great. Many people nowadays are Visual – Spatial, meaning they understand the content better with pictures. Now, I must agree with you that Affiliate Marketing is not a walk in the park. It takes a lot of effort to make yourself, or your product known and trusted by readers.

I commend your unique way of doing this! Keep it up.

    Henry · June 6, 2019 at 1:40 PM

Hi Missus! Yes, it takes a lot of effort. If you enjoy your niche, it’s fun to build your online presence but you have to be persistent.

Thank you for your nice comment. I hope to see you back soon. Keep well!

Akshay · May 22, 2019 at 9:39 AM

Wow, excellent comics you’ve provided there, Henry. To be honest, you explain much better than Wealthy Affiliate when it comes to the basics of affiliate marketing. No jokes!

When I first got started online, I bought a course on product creation. However, I asked for a refund after realizing it’s not for me. But I did take one tiny portion of their lesson, which was about affiliate marketing, and went to Google to study the concept in more depth.

Afterwards, I researched the best courses that could best teach me affiliate marketing. That’s when I stumbled on Wealthy Affiliate for the very first time. I immediately went to Premium coz’ Starter wasn’t available in my country. Lo and behold, I wasn’t disappointed with what I’ve got.

    Henry · June 14, 2019 at 7:33 PM

Hi Dominic! Thank you for stopping by and for your comment! That’s a big statement. I learnt all the basics from Wealthy Affiliate myself and they do an excellent job. I hope this format of presenting information complements what newbies are learning concerning affiliate marketing.

I’m also grateful I found Wealthy Affiliate. Their tools, training and community are a huge help. And I admire that their constantly working to make the platform better every day. I haven’t been disappointed either.

Andres Agudelo · May 22, 2019 at 9:47 AM

What an amazing article. This is the first time I got really captivated by a post.

I know that affiliate marketing is a good way to make money. And at the same time we can help people making decisions.

According to my research, it takes from 6 to 12 months to start seeing profits. And it’s the most reliable way I have found so far to make money without having to invest huge amounts.

I like the way you presented this information. It’s engaging and educative at the same time. Thanks for the post.

    Henry · May 23, 2019 at 12:24 AM

    Hi Andres!

Thank you for your kind words concerning this post.

Yes, affiliate marketing is a good way to make a living online. And you don’t need to invest very much to get started. How many months it takes to start seeing profits? It depends on many factors. But the principle one is the amount of effort you put into your site.

Nate MC · June 15, 2019 at 8:53 PM

I do affiliate marketing already, and have been involved in making money online for many years. I have never seen a comic strip explaining what AM is. This was so cool of you to explain it in this manner. I think beginners will definitely have a clear understanding of the basics of AM after reading this.

Nice job!

    Henry · June 15, 2019 at 9:01 PM

Hey Nate! Thank you for stopping by and for your comment! I really enjoy doing these comic strips. It’s good to know you found this comic useful!

Matthew · June 15, 2019 at 9:00 PM

I have read so many Affiliate Marketing articles over the last few days as I really want to start working as an affiliate marketer but until I read this, I didn’t quite understand what it was all about and to be honest it all looked quite boring.

This post has made me feel like it would be a business that I need to get into.

I have subscribed to this website to keep reading what you have to teach and I will not miss an episode of your comic strip.

    Henry · June 15, 2019 at 9:09 PM

Hi Matthew! Good you have taken action by joining the platform I suggested. I’ll also welcome you there. I hope to see you choosing something you really enjoy and building a profitable website out of it! Let’s get started!

Ann · June 28, 2019 at 1:24 AM

Love the comic strip. As a manga blogger, I completely love the delivery of your story and the art which portrays the story effectively. It’s not only the art I’m impressed with but also the way you explained what affiliate marketing is with the comic strip. I wish all information would be delivered in art like manga and comics.

    Henry · June 28, 2019 at 2:41 AM

Hello Ann. I’m glad you liked this form of content. I really wish to continue delivering useful content that is also fun to read. Your comment is a huge encouragement. Thanks! 🙂

Jeff · June 28, 2019 at 1:28 AM

Awesome article! I enjoyed the comic strip very much!

I have also started my own blog so I have found your journey interesting. A lot of people ask me how I got started blogging.

I must also say thanks for giving me the idea of using comics in my blog too. It’s makes posts captivating.

    Henry · June 28, 2019 at 2:49 AM

Hey Jeff! I’m glad you got a idea from my site that you would like to test on your own blog. I really like using comics. Thank you for your comment.

Stella · July 1, 2019 at 2:31 AM

I really enjoy reading your cartoons!

Mentioning Wealthy Affiliate through cartooning is a different way of explaining it. And I appreciate that the speech bubbles were large enough to read comfortably.

Wealthy Affiliate is a great way of learning affiliate marketing. You learn everything from SEO to keyword research and web design without code. Email marketing and ecommerce sites are also among the lessons. Even dropshipping for Amazon products. What’s not to love about Wealthy Affiliate?

Cost effective step by step training with great support!

    Henry · July 11, 2019 at 3:51 AM

    Hello Stella.

Thank you for stopping by and for your comment! It sounds like you’re really happy with Wealthy Affiliate. I also believe it’s a great starting point.

Sondra M · July 1, 2019 at 2:36 AM

Wow, you have done a great job of explaining in very simple terms what affiliate marketing is. Or maybe I should say that interview with Henry was done so well, that you were able to explain how affiliate marketing is a business that will allow someone work from home.

I must admit, the cartoon is a very unique way of presenting the “lesson.” I hope a lot of people find it as enjoyable as I did.

I appreciate your reminders that ultimately, affiliate marketing is the business of helping others. If I was not already an affiliate marketer with limited time myself, I would be signing up to learn how Henry learned what he needed to do to become successful.

    Henry · July 11, 2019 at 3:46 AM

    Hi Sondra.

Thank you very much for your very kind comment. I appreciate it very much! It’s exciting to read you enjoyed the comic, and it encourages me to keep on creating more.

    Keep well! All the best.

Henderson · November 26, 2019 at 10:36 PM

This is sure to make people stay glued. I like the fact that you have used some very nice comics to explain what affiliate marketing is all about. I agree totally with you that once a person who visited your website feels very good about what you have written, they will most definitely want to makes purchase and that automatically means that one will make commissions. This is very educative and entertaining as well. Great work on your website. Very Sleek.

    Henry · November 29, 2019 at 1:26 AM

Hey there Henderson. Thank you. You’re right, we first must provide tons of value before expecting our first sale.

Benson · November 26, 2019 at 10:39 PM

Hello Henry, I love the way you’ve relayed your message using these cartoons and it was really easy to grab. We need to go through serious training before we can become good affiliates. A good training platform would help us with picking up a niche, creating content, marketing our content, and so many other aspects of a blog. In my personal experience, a platform like Wealthy Affiliate can be trusted to learn these things.

    Henry · November 29, 2019 at 1:34 AM

Hi Benson. Thanks for sharing your experience and insights using Wealthy Affiliate. You’re right, any affiliate marketer will need training during these initial stages.

Jordan Smith · November 26, 2019 at 10:44 PM

Hello Henry. I’m interested in how to make money online, and I have a lot of questions that haunt me… How long do we have to wait ’till it be profitable? How should affiliate marketing be used to make a profit max? What training should we have to facilitate insertion into online work? Thank you for answering me to enlighten my way.

    Henry · November 29, 2019 at 1:46 AM

Hi Moi. I’ll try to answer your questions. How long does it take? It depends on so many factors. But for anybody  getting started, plan a full year for this en devour.

Strategies for profit max? There are many. As you have also asked, learning these strategies through training is a must.

Training recommendations? I recommend a platform called Wealthy Affiliate on this post.

Wow, I have never seen anything like this in all my life as an Internet Marketer. This is very, very good and I have to commend you for your work. Even thought you give a very simple explanation about what affiliate marketing is, it’s so complete. With this easy explanation, even a kid could get started. I like your website. Great work.

Hi John! Thank you very much for your kind words regarding this site and post. I’m glad you liked the affiliate marketing definition.

Wayne · November 26, 2019 at 11:12 PM

I have to say… this is a very unique way to approach creating content for a website, Henry.  I don’t think I have seen anything like it before. I think it’s a great way to get people’s attention. Well… it got mine. I like pictures.  🙂

You’re also right when you say “earning a legit living online is going to take a lot of work and a good portion of it is not going to be easy. However, if one is willing to commit to the process and follow the step by step training on any platform we join, I do believe that one will be successful.

Great training + hard work + a don’t quit attitude = sustainable recurring online income and freedom to pursue one’s dreams.

It’s a great formula and has been proven over and over again.

Now… back to work,

    Henry · November 29, 2019 at 1:58 AM

Wow, what a really unique approach to explaining what affiliate marketing is and even talking about your own unique journey. I’ve checked this platform you’re recommending, it’s Wealthy Affiliate, and I have already joined it. I really didn’t have much knowledge about websites or ranking on Google before joining this program. So I’m a satisfied client!

Benny · January 11, 2020 at 7:47 PM

Hi! These illustrations have captured my attention and when I started reading the comic I discovered it’s well made and engaging. I want to learn more about these difficulties you encountered. We all have to struggle before we master any craft. And affiliate marketing won’t be the exception. Thanks for the way you put this series of posts together.

    Henry · January 12, 2020 at 2:12 AM

Hi Benny. Please stay tuned and continue reading about my journey. You may encounter similar difficulties along your journey through affiliate marketing.

baoega · January 11, 2020 at 7:50 PM

Hello. I started doing surveys online, but that’s really annoying. I also started using criptocurrency faucets, but that isn’t a good deal either. So I was very excited when I discovered about affiliate marketing. It seems just perfect for me. I have been reading about how it works and I came across your site were you explain things in a fun and engaging way. Thanks.

    Henry · January 12, 2020 at 2:48 AM

Isaac · January 11, 2020 at 7:54 PM

Hi Henry,

This was a very interesting take on how affiliate marketing works. The comic format makes it easy to follow and the real life examples make it easy to understand. Very creative!

Affiliate marketing is definitely the least stressful business model because you don’t have to worry about manufacturing and dealing with products. And you can promote whatever you want.

I’ve been building out a website for about a year now and it’s been a great journey (although I’m not rich quite yet). It’s always encouraging to hear about other people taking their passions and turning it into a website that can be a good source of income. Good luck with your journey!

    Henry · January 12, 2020 at 2:53 AM

Hi Isaac. Congrats on running your website for a whole year. It takes a lot of dedication constantly producing content. But when it’s something you enjoy, you’ll sooner or later make it work!

All the best with your site!

Tamara · January 11, 2020 at 7:56 PM

I have just left you a comment but I wanted to come back and ask you about this storytelling method using comics. How long does it take you to create a post like this? Twice as long compared to the time you would spend if you were just writing a normal post? Three times more time? Four times more? I’m interested.

And how have the results concerning engagement been? Has people engaged more with this type of format?

    Henry · February 23, 2020 at 12:10 AM

Hi Tamara. Thanks for your question. It definitely takes more time produce a post with this format. I’d say four times more time. And yeah, engagement has also been increasing, so it’s worth it.

    Have a nice day!

Robert · January 11, 2020 at 10:26 PM

Thank you for a very unique way to describe your journey in discovering the benefits and profitability of affiliate marketing. Using a comic strip-style to tell your story was indeed an uncommon way to present it.

Affiliate marketing is a much more profitable and easier to operate form of digital marketing than all other forms. With the multiple products and services you can promote, finding a place that teaches you everything is crucial.

The reasons why affiliate marketing is the best opportunity for beginners has to do with its simplicity of how you earn money and with more and more people shopping online, affiliate marketing will continue to grow for years to come.

    Henry · January 12, 2020 at 7:08 PM

Hi Robert. Thank you very much for your kind words concerning the way this post presents things through a comic strip. I’m glad I discovered affiliate marketing and I agree with you. It’s a simple, legit and growing way of building an income stream online.

MrBiizy · January 12, 2020 at 1:03 AM

Hello Henry. Reading your post is interesting and you make things easy to comprehend. I like the way you explained the whole concept of Affiliate Marketing by using this combination of scenes, illustrations and texts. I have been discussing with some of my friends how affiliate marketing works and you’ve answered really well one of my friends questions. Your post is definitely worth sharing. Thank you very much!

    Henry · January 12, 2020 at 7:15 PM

Hi! I’m glad you fond this post useful and that you also feel your friends may benefit from it! Thank you very much for sharing.

Sonny · January 25, 2020 at 9:37 PM

Ciao bello! I haven’t come across an entertaining article in quite a long while! I’m glad I stumbled upon yours! That comic strip pretty much explains how affiliate marketing works, that even a child can understand. Kudos to you for coming up with a novel idea! On top of that, I like the way you structured your website. It’s tidy and clean.

    Henry · January 25, 2020 at 9:55 PM

Hi Sunny! Thank you for your nice words about this article and site. Please keep on visiting us. We hope to continue providing value in future posts.

Rhain · January 25, 2020 at 9:38 PM

Always straightforward and forthright. Those are the top qualities that make up your articles and it also happens to be indispensable qualities in the journey to creating a sustainable business online. As you rightly stated, just as offline businesses are never built overnight, the same applies on the internet. Now, the model of an affiliate marketing business is relatively easy to carry out. But as you already know, the actual building process requires efforts, sustained efforts over time. I have to say, I can totally relate to your story, just that I fell for some ripoffs before grasping what it truly takes.

Thanks for sharing, Henry.

    Henry · January 25, 2020 at 10:15 PM

Hi Rhain. Thank you very much for your comment. Yes, the model is simple but the building process requires sustained effort over time.

All the best in your journey through affiliate marketing too!

Jonas · January 25, 2020 at 9:48 PM

Haha, I love the comic like conversation! It was very engaging and anyone will understand what affiliate marketing is about from reading it. It pleases me that you are honest about that businesses take time to develop. Too many scams and false promises are being promoted and it’s easy to fall into one of these traps and end up disappointed, lose motivation or belief.

Again, great comic! 😀

– Jonas

    Henry · January 25, 2020 at 10:00 PM

Hey Jonas. Yes, I’m tired and people are tired of these false promises scammers spread all over the web. There is nothing more calming than to be told things just as they are, honestly.

Thank you very much for expressing your approval concerning the comic-strip.

Juan Saladin · January 25, 2020 at 10:14 PM

This is what I like to call a great review. I love the comics you’ve used to make a point while entertaining!

Let me tell you: Thanks a lot for this recommendation. I’ve already joined Wealthy Affiliate platform after your recommendations. They have an incredibly active community (being Saturday afternoon) answering each other’s questions and concerns. That’s the key for me, as I’ve learned with time and experience that there’s no way to success alone.

In order to make modern affiliate marketing businesses work properly you’d need to be an artist, a web designer and an entrepreneur all at once. You could either break the bank hiring a team or get ready to learn a lot (which is not a problem as far as you have the right source and the right people backing you up).

They also have a great library of training material and weekly live webinars to help you grow your business! This definitely is what I was looking for!

    Henry · January 25, 2020 at 10:21 PM

Hi Juan. I’m glad you’ve already joined Wealthy Affiliate and that it has meet your expectations. Yes, one of the things I like about the platform is its community. Great place to ask questions and to receive help 24/7.

Hamish58 · January 27, 2020 at 7:05 PM

Hey what a really neat and entertaining way to introduce the opportunity that is affiliate marketing. I have myself been an affiliate marketer but I have never seen the whole picture explained in such a compelling way, and so easy to understand.

Also your chosen recommendation, Wealthy Affiliate looks like a very good support model.

Can you tell me is it available in all countries? Is there a market for it everywhere?

    Henry · January 27, 2020 at 7:35 PM

Hi Hamish. Thanks for stopping by and for your comment.

Most countries can try the free version of Wealthy Affiliate for as much time as they want. All the countries can sign up for the paid version.

Now, the countries that can’t try the free version are:

Concerning the second question: affiliate marketing is global. Once you build your site, you can receive in it potential customers from all over the world.

Linda · January 27, 2020 at 7:07 PM

Its funny I just read this. I was looking at my e-mails and received a job offer through Indeed as an affiliate manager. I never thought of being an affiliate manager but once reading this, I might just give it a hot. There is nothing an affiliate could lose right? Besides, your story is inspirational~

You are so right my friend. I would definitely pause and wonder if someone came up to me offering overnight riches. As you mentioned in this episode, the only way to build a sustainable business is working hard. It’s the same both online and offline.

I liked the way you answered the question of What is affiliate marketing about? The method you used was so unique and it really brought the point across. Now you have me looking out for Episode 2.
